DJ 19 is not just a nu-breed DJ, but also a well-respected producer who has already established himself as a pioneer in the Japanese club scene. With endless enthusiasm and support for music, he now continues to cultivate and revolutionize the music industry by not only being a DJ/producer, but also as a label owner and a music journalist.

DJ 19’s talents go far beyond DJing, as he also produces music, organizes dance music events, and is a prominent music journalist. His DJ sets draw from his vast knowledge of music. While he resides in Tokyo, he performs throughout Asia, and has more recently begun DJing internationally in such countries as England, the USA,  Russia, Italy & more. In 2002, DJ 19 was invited to play the main room at  Heaven as guest of the Bedrock label party in London. As a producer, he’s been producing numerous solo tracks like “Breakin’ Of The Dawn” and working on collaborations with THOMAS PENTON, KRIECE, C-JAY, STEVE MAY and NOEL SANGER. In 2005, a collaboration with AUSTIN LEEDS resulted in “Diamond Dust”, which appears in Renaissance’s “Therapy Sessions - Volume 2 mixed by Dave Seaman”. Moreover MAJI NA DAMU, a popular Japanese duo released “B.W.Y.” track, produced and remixed by DJ 19 was featured on Paul van Dyk’s “The Politics of Dancing.” Under TRANCENTRAL STATION moniker, he released a big club hit called ”Mothership”, which was featured on JIMMY VAN M’s “Bedrock CD”. In addition, he is one of the member of AMBROZIA, a downtempo production team released 3 original albums. One of their tracks, “It’s U”, was featured on chillout compilations such as “Real Ibiza” and “Café Ibiza”. Then his devotion to and his taste for quality music spanning a wide variety of musical genres is apparent from his constant and continuous release of chillout compilations by several major labels.

In 1999, DJ 19 established 19BOX RECORDINGS, a prominent record label. In Japanese, “19″ is pronounced “Juke”, making 19BOX(JUKEBOX) RECORDINGS an ideal name to reflect the label’s mission to release music that could be played on a jukebox forever. 19BOX RECORDINGS also has two sister labels; PARK LIMITED MUZIK, which focuses on a tech & electro sound, and 19BOX LIMITED for more exclusive releases.

The name DJ 19 was originally taken from Paul Hardcastle’s hit “19″, but is now respected as a name on its own.

Labels:Panther, Dorigen, Spundae, Oxyd, 19box, 19box Limited, Park Limited Muzik, Paratone, Konami, Avex, Bmg, Pony Canyon, Universal, Emi, Victor…….
